Free architectural window film sample — posted to you

We post a sample swatch to you. Hold it against your window light, then we'll get in touch to scope the job.

Free Window Film Sample — Posted to You

Architectural window film looks different in a showroom than it does in your living room on a summer afternoon. That’s why we offer a free sample. Tell us which film direction you’re thinking about, where the windows face and the rough scope, and we’ll post you a swatch (or a small set, if you’re between two options). The measurement-and-quote site visit follows once you’ve held the film against your own light.

Why a sample first, not a quote first

Most window-film enquiries start with one of two questions: “will this film actually cut the heat?” or “will this film change how the room looks?” Neither is easy to answer from a brochure. The film has to be held against the light it’s actually going to live behind.

That’s why the free sample sits separately from the quote page:

  • You see the film against your own furniture. The same solar-control film can look quite different against a warm timber floor than against a concrete-and-glass interior. Your room is the fairest test.
  • You see the film against your own light. A visible light transmission figure is just a number; what matters is whether the room still feels right in the afternoon with the film on the glass. A sample held against the actual window answers that.
  • You don’t have to commit to a site visit yet. The sample arrives, you live with it, and you get back to us if it makes sense. If it doesn’t, no hard feelings.

Which film direction the swatch covers

Pick the film need on the form and we’ll post the right swatch. If you’re between two directions, tell us — we’ll send a small set instead of a single sample.

  • Solar / heat-rejection film. West-facing living rooms, rear extensions, Hills homes with big glazed facades, townhouse living areas. Sample is the right test for “will the room still feel light?”.
  • UV-protective film. Older interiors with timber floors and soft furnishings that are fading; leadlight rooms where you want UV reduced without changing the look. The sample shows you a near-clear option.
  • Privacy / frosted film. Bathrooms, ensuites, partitions, street-facing front-of-house glazing. Sample shows you the opacity options so you can match the privacy level to the room.
  • Security / safety film. Older non-safety glazing, retail shopfronts, schools and childcare. Sample shows you a clear safety film.
  • Decorative film. Custom patterns, manifestation marks, branded glazing, retail fit-outs, office breakouts.
  • Not sure. Tick “Not sure — please advise” and tell us what the room is doing wrong. We’ll suggest a direction and get in touch to talk it through.

What’s in the sample post-out

Each swatch is a cut of the architectural film we’d quote for the job. Where available, it comes with:

  • The film’s published performance details — such as Total Solar Energy Rejected, Visible Light Transmission and UV rejection.
  • Application notes — which glass types the film suits.
  • A quick tip — how to hold the swatch against the glass for the most honest test (cleanly, against the inside, at the time of day the room bothers you most).

No pushy follow-up. The sample is the sample.

What happens after you request a sample

  1. Your request lands with us. We read it during business hours.
  2. Sample posted. Delivery time depends on the post.
  3. You hold the swatch against your own window. Live with it for a few days if you want — film looks different at different times of day.
  4. You get back to us when it makes sense. If the sample isn’t right and you want a different direction, send us a message and we’ll post an alternative.
  5. Measurement-and-quote site visit once you’ve decided, with no obligation. The written quote names the film, its published performance figures, any relevant standard, and the manufacturer warranty that applies.

What the free sample is not for

  • Window cleaning. If you’re after a clean, the book-online flow is the right place. The sample is for film only.
  • Automotive tinting. Vista Fox does architectural / residential / commercial film only. For automotive work, your local automotive trim shop is the right call.
  • Commercial cleaning quotes. Body-corp routes, retail strips, office contracts — use the quote page or the commercial cleaning service page.
