About Vista Fox
Vista Fox is an Adelaide-owned window cleaning and architectural window film business working across metro Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills. We run the business the way we’d want one run on our own west-facing living room: easy online booking for cleaning, a sample before the spec on film, and a written quote before either job starts.
The fox sees clearly through windows, knows what makes the view, and finds what’s blocking it. That’s the local-knowledge brief in one line. It’s the only place on the site we’ll lean on the metaphor — the work should speak louder than the name.
Why Adelaide windows need local knowledge
Anyone can squeegee a pane. The difference is knowing that a 1920s Norwood villa with original leadlight and bay windows (older glass, a clear UV film that doesn’t change the look, safety glazing considered before quoting) is a different job from a 2015 Mawson Lakes townhouse with floor-to-ceiling west-facing glass and no eaves (a classic solar-film job). Get those distinctions wrong and the homeowner ends up with “the leadlight looks weird now” instead of “we cut the heat without changing the look.”
Adelaide’s housing is varied. The eastern suburbs — Burnside, Norwood, Walkerville, Unley, Prospect — have plenty of older stone-and-leadlight homes with original glazing, where security and UV film can be an alternative to replacing glass. The western coastal suburbs — Glenelg, Henley Beach, Grange, Tennyson, Brighton, Seacliff, Hallett Cove — face the afternoon sun across Gulf St Vincent, which drives a lot of solar-film enquiries. The Hills have large glazed living areas where solar and UV film protect floors without darkening the room. The northern estates — Mawson Lakes, Springwood, Eyre, Munno Para — have plenty of west-facing glass with minimal eaves, well suited to solar and privacy film.
That’s the patch. Reading it correctly is the job.
What we do — two services, one business
Vista Fox runs two quite different services inside one business. We don’t pretend they’re the same conversation.
Window cleaning — book online. Residential, commercial, end-of-lease, high-rise, solar panels, gutters, exterior soft-washing. You want a clean job, a price you can predict, and an easy way to re-book. Pure deionised water on every exterior; microfibre and squeegee on every interior. When you book, we come back with the next available times for your suburb.
Architectural window film — sample and spec. Solar, UV, privacy, security, decorative and signage film. You want the film’s performance numbers, someone who can explain where safety glazing standards (AS 1288 and AS/NZS 2208) apply, and a sample to hold against your own light before you commit. Every quote names the film, its published performance data and the manufacturer warranty that applies.
The two run on the same site. Cleaning starts with the book-online form. Film starts with a free posted sample and a measurement-and-quote site visit.

Architectural film only
Vista Fox does architectural window film for homes and businesses only. We don’t do automotive tinting — that’s a different trade with different films, different standards and a different buyer.
Standards we work with
On film work, a few standards and schemes come up again and again. We explain the relevant ones on our quotes, in plain English.
- AS/NZS 2208 — safety glazing materials in buildings. Safety films used to improve existing glass should be products tested to this standard. We tell you which film and grade we’re quoting.
- AS 1288 — glass in buildings, selection and installation. Sets out where safety glazing is required. We look at it before quoting to help decide whether a pane suits a film upgrade or whether the glass should be replaced.
- WERS for Film. The Window Energy Rating Scheme publishes independent performance ratings for applied films — a useful way to compare one film with another.
- Manufacturer warranties. Warranty terms vary by film product and manufacturer; the warranty that applies to your film is stated on your quote.
Whoever you use, it’s reasonable to ask for a current certificate of currency for public liability, the product data sheet for any film you’re quoted, and the warranty terms in writing.
What to expect when you contact us
The two services run differently — here’s how each works.
For window cleaning:
- You book online. The booking form takes a couple of minutes — suburb, home size, storeys, when suits you, and your contact details. We come back with a price in writing, so there’s no sales call.
- Confirmation. We confirm the booking and what’s included.
- The clean. Pure-water reach-and-wash on every exterior; microfibre and squeegee on every interior.
- Walk-through before we leave. Anything missed gets re-done before the invoice goes out.
- Recurring schedules if you want one. Quarterly, six-monthly or annual — ask about recurring pricing.
For window film:
- You request a free sample. Use the form on this site and we post you a swatch to hold against your own light, in your own room, against your own furniture — film looks different in a showroom than it does in your living room on a summer afternoon.
- We get in touch to scope the job. Once you’ve seen the swatch, we book a measurement-and-quote site visit, with no obligation.
- Written quote. Names the film, its published performance figures, any relevant standard, and the manufacturer warranty that applies. Itemised and GST-inclusive.
- You decide. No pushy follow-up.
- Install. Film installed to the manufacturer’s instructions, with the warranty documentation handed over.
How we work — three principles
- Quote in writing before any work starts. Cleaning gets a written price before you confirm; film gets a written quote before any roll is cut. No verbal “she’ll be right” pricing on either side.
- Standards explained on every film job. Where safety glazing matters, we explain what applies to your glass. The standards are tools we use, not marketing badges.
- Two services, kept clear. Cleaning runs on the book-online flow. Film runs on the free-sample path. If you need both, you get both.
Where we work
Greater Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills — from Gawler in the north to Sellicks Beach in the south, and east to Mount Barker and Hahndorf. The five regional pages — Eastern Suburbs, Western & Coastal Suburbs, Northern Suburbs, Southern Suburbs and Adelaide Hills — list the suburbs we cover and the glass and sun aspect typical of each.
Outside that footprint? Send a photo through the quote form and we’ll let you know whether we can help.
